黙想 mokusou / mokuso もくそう (noun, transitive verb) meditation; silent contemplation
Mokuso is often performed by Japanese practitioners of martial arts and some Japanese Buddhists.
First kanji reads as “moku” and means silence or stop and the second one as “so” and means to think or focus (“watching in silence toward our heart. To think or to reflect profoundly”; silent thinking, contemplation). Mokuso is a common way to start and to end a training session in any dojo.
